Chia seeds come from the Salvia hispanica plant and are an exceptionally versatile food that can easily be added to both sweet and savoury creations.
Thanks to their mild, neutral flavour, they combine harmoniously with a wide variety of ingredients without overpowering the other flavours in the recipe.
When they come into contact with liquid, they absorb some of it and develop their characteristic gel-like texture.

With 34g of fibre per 100g, Chia seeds are high in fibre.
The distinctive texture they develop after hydration makes them an excellent choice for puddings, yoghurt, oatmeal, smoothies and breakfast bowls.
2. Source of protein
Chia seeds are a source of protein. Protein contributes to the maintenance of muscle mass and normal bones.
3. High in unsaturated fat
Their nutritional profile includes Omega‑3, Omega‑6 and Omega‑9 fatty acids, providing a combined total of 25.2g per 100g of product.
Replacing saturated fats in the diet with unsaturated fats contributes to the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels.
Serving suggestion: Add one tablespoon to yoghurt, cereals, smoothies or other drinks and recipes. Chia seeds absorb liquids and should preferably be consumed after soaking or together with a sufficient amount of liquid.
