Rice water is the water left over after cooking or soaking rice. It is primarily composed of starch and contains many vitamins, antioxidants, and minerals, offering numerous benefits for health and beauty.

It may also be an effective treatment for diarrhea in both adults and children. One study showed that rice water reduced the frequency and volume of stool in infants with gastroenteritis.
Prevents dehydration: It has been found that rice water helps prevent dehydration and is as effective at replenishing fluids as an electrolyte solution.
Provides energy: Rice water is rich in carbohydrates and can serve as a good source of energy. Additionally, since it’s in liquid form, the carbohydrates are absorbed more quickly by the body.
Benefits hair health: Rice water is believed to support the health and beauty of hair. It is thought to help hair maintain its elasticity and shine.

Rice water, how to make it: There are several methods for preparing rice water for cosmetic use. You can use any type of rice: white long grain, brown, jasmine, or any other variety you have in your pantry.
Boiling method:
If you want diluted rice water for cosmetic use, like a facial rinse or hair rinse, prepare the rice as usual, but use two to three times more water than the recipe calls for. This amount can last for about a week. Once the rice is cooked, strain it as normal.
The remaining water is rich in nutrients, but you don’t need to use it at full strength. You can dilute it by adding about 3 tablespoons of concentrated rice water to one cup of clean water, creating a slightly milky mixture. Store it in a sealed container in the refrigerator ,it will last about a week.

If you’re short on time, add ½ cup of rice to 2 cups of water and let it sit for 15 minutes. Strain the rice and use the remaining rice water to rinse your hair, face, or both.
