Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) is a majestic evergreen coniferous tree found throughout the forests of Europe and Asia. Its slender green needles, young twigs and characteristic cones release a clean, resinous fragrance reminiscent of the fresh air of the forest.
This particular essential oil originates from Romania and is produced through steam distillation of the needles, twigs and cones of Scots pine. It imparts a fresh, green and characteristically woody-resinous aroma to cosmetic formulations, with clean, balsamic and subtly earthy notes. Its distinctive aromatic signature gives finished formulations a natural, clean and invigorating character.
Scots pine essential oil in cosmetic formulations
Scots pine essential oil is a 100% natural, pure and highly concentrated botanical ingredient.
It is used at an appropriate and controlled concentration as an ingredient in the professional production of soaps, cleansing products, creams, lotions, balms, body butters, foot-care products and body oils, as well as in hair, scalp and beard-care formulations. It imparts a clean, woody and characteristically resinous aromatic profile to finished formulations.
Combinations in professional cosmetic formulations
In body oils and other anhydrous formulations, it may be incorporated at an appropriate concentration into sweet almond oil or jojoba oil. These versatile bases allow the forest-like aroma of Scots pine to stand out.
For soaps, solid balms and richer body formulations, it may be combined with coconut oil or calendula-infused oil, creating formulations with a clean, earthy and refined aromatic character, always within the lowest applicable limit established for the respective category of finished product.
Use: The essential oil is intended exclusively for professional use as an aromatic raw material in the preparation of cosmetic formulations. It is not a finished cosmetic product. Do not apply undiluted to the skin and do not ingest. The appropriate incorporation rate must be determined by the final manufacturer in accordance with the lowest applicable limit, the technical documentation of the raw material and the safety assessment of the finished product.
