Cinnamon Leaf Essential Oil: The Warm, Spicy Breath of Ceylon!
Ceylon cinnamon (Cinnamomum ceylanicum) is an evergreen tropical tree native to Sri Lanka. Its aromatic leaves are distinguished by their warm and intensely spicy fragrance, which forms a characteristic part of Ceylon’s natural aromatic tradition.
This essential oil is produced by steam distillation of cinnamon leaves. It imparts an intense, warm and spicy aroma to cosmetic formulations, with clove-like, woody and subtly green notes. It is obtained from the leaves rather than the bark of the plant, offering a distinctive and easily recognisable aromatic profile.
Cinnamon leaf essential oil in cosmetic formulations
Cinnamon leaf essential oil is a 100% natural and highly concentrated botanical ingredient.
It is used at a strictly controlled, low concentration as an ingredient in the professional manufacture of soaps, cleansing products, balms, creams, lotions, body butters, and hair, scalp and beard care products, exclusively when the specific application and concentration are permitted by the technical documentation, the applicable IFRA limits and the safety assessment of the finished product.
Combinations in professional cosmetic formulations
In anhydrous cosmetic formulations, it may be incorporated, following precise calculation, into almond oil or jojoba oil, which provide versatile bases and allow its warm, spicy aroma to emerge.
For soaps, solid balms and richer formulations, it may be combined with coconut oil or calendula-infused oil, always within the lowest permitted limit applicable to the specific category of the finished product.
Use: The essential oil is intended exclusively for professional use as an aromatic raw material in the manufacture of cosmetic formulations. It is not a finished cosmetic product. Do not apply undiluted to the skin and do not ingest. The appropriate incorporation level must be determined by the final manufacturer in accordance with the lowest applicable limit, the technical documentation of the raw material and the safety assessment of the finished product.
