The lemon tree (Citrus limon) is an evergreen fruit-bearing tree with bright yellow fruits and a highly aromatic peel. It has been cultivated for centuries throughout the Mediterranean and has acquired a distinctive place in Italy’s landscapes and aromatic tradition.
This particular essential oil is of Italian origin and is produced by pressing the peel of the lemon fruit. It imparts a vibrant, fresh and characteristically citrus aroma to cosmetic formulations, with bright green and subtly sweet notes. Its sparkling aromatic signature gives finished formulations a clean, light and dynamic character.
Lemon essential oil in cosmetic formulations
Lemon essential oil is a 100% natural and highly concentrated botanical ingredient.
It is used at an appropriate concentration as an ingredient in the professional production of soaps, cleansing products, body washes, creams, lotions, balms, body butters, bath salts and body oils, as well as hair and scalp care products. It gives finished formulations a clean, bright and characteristically lemony aromatic profile.
Pairings in professional cosmetic formulations
In body oils and other anhydrous formulations, it can be incorporated at an appropriate concentration into sweet almond oil or jojoba oil, which serve as versatile bases and allow the vibrant aroma of lemon to unfold.
For soaps, solid balms and richer body formulations, it can be combined with coconut oil or calendula-infused oil, creating formulations with a bright, clean and refined aromatic character.
Use: This essential oil is intended exclusively for professional use as an aromatic raw material in the preparation of cosmetic formulations. It is not a finished cosmetic product. Do not use undiluted on the skin and do not ingest. The incorporation rate must be determined by the final manufacturer according to the lowest applicable limit, the technical data of the raw material and the safety assessment of the finished product.
