The sweet orange tree (Citrus sinensis) is an evergreen fruit-bearing tree with vibrant orange fruits and a richly aromatic peel. Cultivated for centuries throughout the Mediterranean, it holds a special place in Italy’s landscapes and aromatic tradition.
This essential oil is of Italian origin and is produced by pressing the peel of the sweet orange fruit. It imparts a bright, sweet and characteristically citrus aroma to cosmetic formulations, with lively fruity and subtly green notes. Its radiant aromatic signature gives finished formulations a fresh, warm and uplifting character.
Sweet orange essential oil in cosmetic formulations
Sweet orange essential oil is a 100% natural, pure and highly concentrated botanical ingredient.
It is used at an appropriate concentration as an ingredient in the professional preparation of soaps, cleansing products, shower gels, creams, lotions, balms, body butters, bath products and body oils, as well as hair and scalp care formulations. It gives finished formulations a bright, sweet and distinctly citrus aromatic profile.
Combinations in professional cosmetic formulations
In body oils and other anhydrous formulations, it may be incorporated at an appropriate concentration into sweet almond oil or jojoba oil. These versatile carrier oils allow the bright and fruity aroma of sweet orange to unfold beautifully.
For soaps, solid balms and richer body formulations, it may be combined with coconut oil or calendula-infused oil, creating formulations with a warm, fresh and refined citrus character, always within the lowest applicable limit for the specific category of finished product.
Use: The essential oil is intended exclusively for professional use as an aromatic raw material in the preparation of cosmetic formulations. It is not a finished cosmetic product. Do not apply undiluted to the skin and do not ingest. The incorporation rate must be determined by the final manufacturer in accordance with the lowest applicable limit, the technical documentation of the raw material and the safety assessment of the finished product.
